Body image, self-esteem, and sense of masculinity in patients with prostate cancer: a qualitative meta-synthesis

Prostate cancer has an important effect on men’s health post-diagnosis. This systematic review summarizes the available qualitative literature pertaining to men’s body image, self-esteem, and masculinity in patients with PCa. Adaptions and discourses men engaged with to avoid distress and adverse mental wellbeing outcomes from their diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
